Dec 23, 2015- Blankets were provided to total 70 visually-impaired earthquake survivors of Gorkha – the epicenter of devastating April 25 earthquake.
The visually-impaired including fully blinded and partially blinded each were provided with warm blanket to cope with dipping temperature in the winter.
Nepal Blind Welfare Association central chairperson Kumar Thapa handed over the blankets to the victims.
The earthquake survivors of Shreenathkot, Gankhu, Chhoprak, Thumi, Aruarbang and Mulchowk VDCs of the district, among others, had received blankets, shared Blinds Association Gorkha Chapter Chairperson Pawan Kumar Basnet.
Similarly, 15 blind students of Saraswoti higher secondary school of the district headquarters were also given away sweaters and 20 rim brail copies. Nine visually-impaired students of Amar Jyoti Janata higher secondary school were also the recipients of sweaters, informed Nepal Blind Welfare Association Gorkha district member Parshuram Bhatta. RSS
