CURFEW IN GAUR AFTER DEMO; CLASH IN SARLAHI’S MALANGAWA - Post Report, RAUTAHAT/SARLAHI.

Dec 23, 2015- The local administration in Rautahat district clamped an indefinite curfew from 11 am in Gaur, the district headquarters, on Tuesday morning after the supporters of agitating Samyukta Loktantrik Madhesi Morcha (SLMM) began protesting.
The local administration had lifted the curfew for four hours in the morning when the SLMM protesters descended to the streets and started burning tyres at places like BP Chowk, Kabir Chowk and Aadalat Road.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajendra Pokharel said the SLMM supporters resumed their protest in the absence of security personnel.
Chief District Officer Narhari Baral informed that the curfew was clamped to prevent untoward incidents. He said that the district did not witness any violent incidents after the curfew.
Meanwhile, the family of Sekha Tabarej, who was killed in police firing on Sunday, received his body after the local administration agreed to recommend the government that he be declared a martyr.
In Sarlahi district, security personnel and SLMM supporters clashed at Malangawa throughout the day.
The SLMM supporters were demonstrating against the arrest of Ashok Yadav, district chairman of Sanghiya Samajwadi Forum Nepal. Yadav was arrested on public offence charge on Sunday.
Municipal chief’s vehicle torched
BHARATPUR: An unidentified group torched a vehicle belonging to Ramesh Subedi, chief of Narayani Municipality, in Chitwan on Tuesday. Police said the arsonists forced Subedi out of the vehicle and set it on fire. Similarly, the cadres of SLMM allegedly torched a truck at Shivaraj Municipality in Kapilvastu on Monday night.
